4 best space for physical activity

Working out and staying active should be, in theory, an important part of everybody’s life. Keeping up with any training, whether you like speed walking, team sports or sweating at the gym means that you’re keeping your body fit and ready to face any challenges. For some people is not that easy to stay focused on regular activity and the main reason for that is… lack of time. For us, saying that your gym is too far away and the weather outside is too ugly to work out are just excuses. Here are 5 spaces for physical activity that will allow you to exercise regardless of your reasons not to.

A gym nearby

We agree that going to the other side of the city to exercise in a well-equipped and highly recommended gym might be troublesome during the week, when you’re already coming home late and all you want is some rest. However, choosing a gym nearby with some basic equipment that you can use is also ok and in fact, it’s better than not doing anything. Some areas of the city have gyms within walking distance, so no time to spend on getting to the gym is no excuse now.

Organised workout classes

For some people, the main problem with working out is lack of motivation to do it alone. We get that – not everybody finds it enough to have a voice telling you to do something from your laptop screen. A solution for that is simple – go to some organised workout classes. It can be anything from spinning to yoga to pilates to swimming classes, you choose what you like. It might get expensive but once you get into the habit of working out, you might be able to switch things up and work out at home most of the time, choosing classes only on days when you really can’t be bothered to do it alone.

Outside activities

There are people who prefer to stay inside at all times and there are those who can’t imagine going home from work and back to work the next day without seeing the real world. Use your will to go outside and choose activities that you can incorporate into your walks – run in the park, go on a bike ride, go on a hike with your dog or use one of those outdoor gyms that start to appear in parks and use it as you would a traditional setup. Remember that working outside is actually good for your mood, your brain and the entire body and everyone should try it once in a while.basement gym

Basement gym at home

Finally, we get to the solution that conquers all reasons not to work out and that is turning your basement into an at-home gym. You can’t say the weather is bad – the basement will keep you warm and safe. You can’t say it’s too far away – it’s literally downstairs. You can’t say that you don’t want anyone seeing you work out – the basement is usually pretty secluded and you can do whatever you want down there. For a space that’s rarely used, a basement is a perfect place for an at-home gym and allows you to get the equipment you always wanted but never had the space for it. Depending on your favourite activity, you could do almost anything in the gym and never feel bored with your routine.
Need some tips on how to get a gym made in your basement? Start simple, with a good flooring and some basic equipment, put up some lights, connect the wi-fi and make sure you can get help down there if necessary. You can invest in some more advanced equipment once you really get into working out at home and want to expand your inventory, and if you feel like switching up, start looking for excuses and go to a standard gym to meet new people and get motivation to work out more.
